Smart System Design
Custom architecture for intelligent automation, tailored to your facility, industry and scale.
What is Smart System Design?
Smart system design is the planning stage where devices, networks, power and software are specified as one system before anything is installed. Good design avoids the most common IoT failures: sensors that cannot reach the gateway, batteries that die early, and data that nobody can use. e.FM designs these systems around ESP32-based hardware, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi and MQTT, with the e.FM Cloud platform as the data layer.
Who it is for
Facility owners, factories, developers and integrators who want to automate monitoring or control and need a clear technical plan first.
How we work
- Requirements and site survey. We define what must be measured or controlled, how often, and under which environmental conditions.
- Architecture. We choose sensors, controllers, gateways and protocols (LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Modbus) that fit the site.
- Power and connectivity budget. We calculate energy use per device and, where grid power is limited, size solar harvesting and backup batteries.
- Pilot and rollout plan. We propose a small pilot, success criteria and a staged rollout.
What you get

Frequently Asked Questions
What does smart system design include?
It includes requirements analysis, an architecture covering devices, network and cloud, a power budget, and a pilot and rollout plan.
Can you design for an existing building or factory?
Yes. Retrofits start with a site survey so the design works with the equipment and wiring that already exist.
